My Elements of Information Technology (EIT) class ended around an hour ago. I’ve been studying this subject for four months now and I am yet to find a trace of IT. All I’ve wasted my precious time all these months is on number systems (binary, decimal, octal & hexadecimal), generations of computers (the teacher accepts it is of no use, but still thinks it is important for the exams. Well, if that is the case, then I guess even TinTin comics are better off than the question papers). I also studied, although without any concentration or interest whatsoever, the block diagram of a CPU which my teacher thinks is very much needed.

The teacher has completely no idea of what education is all about. For her teaching the subject is all about decorated answer sheets with neat pencil-made margins (she thinks we should still draw a margin allthough our answer sheets already have one). She still cares about how bad our handwriting is and how badly we scribble on our answer sheets.

To be continued…

  3. pity on you as you think number system is a waste. you like and studying computers and information technology but haven;t understood that every damn digital thing (including ur pc or website) runs on 0’s and 1’s which is the basic of number system. Every software, firmware, device runs because of number system. and To create an device, software anything, you need number system.

  5. It is not important at the college level, espescially when CBSE makes us study the number systems in the school itself :)

And I am pursuing BBA (IT)… no one from here is going to be a software architecht, so we’re better off with creating presentations and accounting!
