I’ve finally decided to come back to my blog after a very busy 1 year when I was caught with studies, MBA admission exams, Unify amongst other things.
2011 so far has been a bag of mixed fortunes. After being a ‘victim’ of a weird ‘normalisation’ process of IIMs in CAT where my strongest section (suspiciously) came down to a (suspicious) 32.5 percentile, scored a whopping 92 percentile in XAT, missed a sectional for XLRI and was advised against applying to other good colleges that I might have got into.
Cleared the NMAT at the cut off score with lots of luck, right on the last day of Unify 2011. Gearing up for the GD – PI now, which people say is tough to clear at the cut off score (70% weightage is given to the NMAT score in this stage). Sir said clarity, honesty and commitment is the key for the PI, expects me to manage the GD well.
Coming to Unify, even Unify had sort of a comeback this time. After a really bad low last year, we did manage to get back the participation. It was nice to hear the crowd cheer “Unify, Unify” on the last day… an awesome experience I can’t put down here, though I will put videos and photographs when I am provided with. We couldn’t manage the rock show without a sponsor though, but this Unify experience was one of the best things I’ll take with me after college ends in another two months.
College is ending, woof! So soon. Tonight seems like the evening of the day in whose morning we started college. Frankly, first semester and last semester have a lot in common. In the first semester people didn’t have grudges and now they don’t care anymore, so it has all boiled down to the same thing. All of us are starting to get (a lot) emotional about college ending, which none of us really wants to think about at this point.
While I write this the warm up India vs. Australia game in the Cricket World Cup 2011 is on and India is kind of being slaughtered. I sort of wanted this to happen, they will be in shape when the real games start, then we’ll tell Australia who’s who.
Looking back, I think I’ve caught a fancy for Trance. Unrelated, but I wanted to say this.
Update: India won the warmup game.
