Airtel Disturbs You, Now Proved

I got a new Airtel postpaid in the last week of January. When their executive came to get the documents verified, his records showed my name with my father’s name as my middle name, which I promptly got omitted (because none of my other official documents have it, I don’t use a middle name). He gave a stupid reply “Sir, this is Maharashtra, it is compulsory to use a middle name”. I still “forced” him to strike it out.

Now coming back to the topic, just 24 hours after I bought my connection and this “middle name” incident happened, I get a call from Bharti Axa Life Insurance’s Mumbai office selling me some oh-so-wow insurance policy. This executive called me by [<First Name> <Middle Name>] which makes it very obvious who was “selling” customers’ personal information. Note that both Airtel and Bharti Axa Life Insurance are associated to the Bharti group. I told the insurance salesman that I didn’t want one and hung up.

But this morning again, he called up again, and I was writing my Financial & Cost Accounting exam. The mobile rang right 30 minutes into the exam (okay my bad, I forgot to switch it off). Had it not been for the understanding invigilator, I would have been PWND.
